The main thing i hate about this app. I see ordinary ppl's tik toks, and every time in the comments someone bullies them for their appearance, nationality, sexuality etc. Tik tok creates social injustices and I rly hate that.

Also, have you ever considered that the majority-if not all- the tik tok celebrities are white, pretty and straight? There are ofc exceptions but that's the truth, even if you're too blind to see it.

Getting away after doing shit
I also HATE that so many Tik Tok celebs(for example Lil Huddy) do shit and get away with it. Just bc they have good looks ppl support them, and it doesn't matter if they have horrible personalities.

The fakeness
Yeah, those celebs keep sharing every single detail about their lives and you just believe them. As if this whole thing isn't a plan to deceive you and get more followers. The term 'private life' doesn't exist for them, which verifies my point.

People literally turn into robots
That's a personal opinion but these dances are so damn annoying. It's just ppl looking at a camera and dancing provokingly. And then they get so addicted that they continue dancing like this for the rest of the day, even when they don't record.

Once you open the app you can't close it. I know this is its purpose, but if you think how much time teenagers spend on this all instead of doing something more productive, you feel sad.

Edits are stolen
I've seen this time and again. People steal instagram edits and post them on tik tok without a watermark, pretending it's theirs. How fucking disrespectful is that?!

No personal data protection
That has been improved recently, but tik tok is not safe. Even the private accounts' tik toks sometimes become open to the public and people download them without consent, which is very dangerous and wrong.

There are definitely more reasons why I dislike this app but these are the substantial ones. Of course Tik Tok is beneficial too, but, for me, it's not useful. I decided to make this thread bc my sister is very addicted to it, and seeing her like this makes me angry with the app.
And before any of you attack me, this thread is NOT about China. Idc who created it, bc this thread has no political purpose and I'm not even american.
