Second class today: I start lecturing on time and about five minutes in, I ask the first discussion question. No replies. I rephrase it. Nothing.

I start getting a bit cranky and explain that I’m not doing all the work for them and move onto the next passage to examine. >

I ask the discussion question about the next passage. Again, silence. Not even a chat comment.

I get really cranky at this point; this silence is not like them.

I break them off into breakout rooms for the planned session. Nobody goes to the rooms! >

I am starting to get right peeved now and look at the list of participants.

THEY WERE ALL IN THE WAITING ROOM BECAUSE I DID NOT ADMIT THEM.
