The announcement of the Dominus set inspired me to dog out my Punch/Counterpunch for a #deskbot today. I realize he's canonically an Autobot undercover as a Decepticom, but his figure's design makes more sense to me the other way around...
...He has this vestigal armored cockpit that gets clamshelled inside his car exterior in a way that reminds me of the G1 Dinobots' Diaclone cockpits. Or of those insects that have outer wings/wingcases that mimic a different insect's appearance.
It seems to imply that his original Decepticon vehicle mode was some sorta small armored scout car thing & when he was modified to with an Autobot disguise he added a shell of "normal" car parts, but in his Decepticon mode (& during transformation) his original parts are visible.
Whatever. It's my headcanon. I'll read way too much into the subtle details of the toy designs if I want to 
Wow, there were a lot of typos in this thread. My new-ish phone's autocorrect/dictionary is apparently still getting used to... normal English grammar. Bleh.
