I've stuck to Covid rules assiduously, and know that science and evidence are our way out of this.
But to those in NYC and LA who haven't opened cinemas, and others in India, Ireland here in Scotland, etc, who are now closing them, I say: show us how you made your decisions...

My local cinema @Filmhouse can keep its cafe open (1m distance, no masks when seated, talking) but its 3 screens (2m distance,masks,no talking) must close. Politicians/public health experts closing cinemas again: There's no evidence of Covid transmission in cinemas anywhere...
...so what extra data have you to justify your decision? Have you been to your local multiplex/indie cinema? Or are you just assuming that people are too close together there?

...but if you are going to re-close a sector, a lifeline, a consolation, an affordable cultural entertainment, then you need to show us how you made your decision. Because that decision, if ill advised, risks killing off something vital, and valuable, a way out of the crisis.
