I am scared of the Alwar patch...we were literally chased one Friday (2012) by M men on bikes as I was driving my humble Maruti Alto. There were 2 bikes and 3 on one and 4 on one. Coming right in front from both sides. But hubs told me to drive on even if I killed them. We knew stopping wasn't an option we were outnumbered and they had the Friday junoon on their head (early evening). We were returning from Neemrana Fort after a short vacation 2/n

I drove like maniac not caring if I hit them or someone else. Don't even know the speed I hit. Trying my best to avoid them as they would come from both sides, shouting abuses and try to swing in on my way ot bang on the window of the car. 3/n

Was wearing a salwar kameez as I was headed to in laws place from the trip (those who feel my attire might have provoked). I hated the law against tinted glasses that day and was yearning for my black cover. I could sense why muslim women want to cover in tent 4/n

I wanted my car pane to be tinted and give me cover too so that they wouldn't know a woman was driving...so sh!t scared I was. Drove like that for about 40-50 min when I finally lost them and hit a more crowded road. My hubs checked and then asked me to pull over. 5/n

Despite ac at full, I was sweating. He was too but thanks to his egging and support and guidance about which side the bikers were trying to swing in and hit me made me drive on. I pulled over and exchanged places. U was shivering. He too & briefly hugged me but we were scared 6/n

We didn't want them to come back so he quickly took the wheel and after few min asked me to drink water. It was only when we hit city I felt relief. It was around the Mewat patch we later found it (was our first yr in Gurgaon) 7/n

I have never ever been so scared in my life (not kidding- not even while scuba diving though I can't swim). Veen asked on so mang trips for Alwar post that but my experience was so soured that I never went back. Mewat needs a solution 8/n #threadends
