Curtin recognises, supports and celebrates our trans, gender diverse, and intersex staff and students. We embrace all as part of our #Curtin community. 🌈
Like many, we are disappointed by the comments about transgender people made in the media recently, which trivialised the experience of trans and gender diverse people, as well as intersex people, and reinforced existing prejudices towards this part of the broader community.
While we welcome growth and education, it is important to also demonstrate change through action.
Controversies like this can be difficult to deal with, support is always available at Curtin if you need it. We welcome our students and staff to contact Curtin's Wellbeing services on +61 8 9266 4468 or by emailing wellness.people@curtin.edu.au.
Additionally, if you are part of the wider community, we are happy to share with you a list of support contacts, and invite you to share any others with our community in the comments (continued)
