If the Supreme Court throws out votes properly postmarked by election day, I don't know what's going to happen to this country. That's the Rubicon. It's a bell you can't unring. Destroy American voters' *valid ballots* to ensure Donald Trump stays in power and everything changes.
Different states have different laws, and of course *everyone* should get their votes in *ASAP*. But states with statutes that allow ballots to be received and counted after election day—based on postmark date or any other condition—better have those statutes *honored* by SCOTUS.
I just don't think Republicans have thought this through—*at all*. The right to vote is one of the fundamental rights enshrined in the Constitution. It's the bedrock of democracy. If Americans think Trump and his judges are throwing out valid ballots, it's going to change things.
