MINO. 2nd place on smtm. korean guys like k-hiphop more than k-pop and mino is one of the few 'idol rappers' the scene acknowledges. there are literally 4 'idol rappers' the underground approve of -gd, mino, zico, and bobby- and that's it. seriously, no more. not even ur oppa.

아낙네(fiance) did super well in korea. no idol rapper's solo can do this well except for the other 3 i mentioned earlier. the guys in korea look up to mino so much, there is a funny thing people say, "even if ur an inner circle, ur bf is prolly more excited to see mino than u"

신서유기(njttw). i'm not exaggerating, this is korean's fav variety show. the pd of this show is super duper famous in korea, so people watch his shows as a given. people of all ages rave about this show and its merch. people love mino on here, and there r memes EVERYWHERE

YOON. super star k 4th place as a high schooler. older people know him by name for this show. he sang a cover of a "flopped" song on the show, and it did so well that his cover and the original song were #1 and #2 on music charts.

he starred in multiple famous dramas, and also sang multiple OSTs. 복면가왕(kofms) 6 time winner, which is 3rd in most wins overall, and 1st for an idol singer. if u see the comments for his performances on naver tv, people aged 30~60 absolutely love him and his singing.

JINU. famous for his looks. any good-looking boy trainee debuts? compare to jinu. any good-looking girl trainee debuts? compare to girl!jinu. he always comes up in convos about visuals, both in tv and in forums. he is also known for the 널 좋아해(neol joahahe) angel in reallyx2

HOON. k pop star 4th place - for dancing, not singing, which is unknown. he's well-known for being a good dancer. he was on a TV show as a JUDGE for dancing. people consider him different than the typical idol main dancer. he is respected for his choreography skills.

also his quick wit and charm. the short poems he does on every tv show, is always an instant meme. he is also a part of YG's professional board ??? i think, i'm not sure.

winner is considered a very well-balanced group. first, with the fan and general public ratio. 2nd, with the members. they have the best rapper, best singer, best dancer, and best visuals in the idol community. honestly legends. and so unproblematic too!

things the korean public say frequently about w:
1. winner is a genre
2. 믿듣위, 대중돌
3. winner is more an artist than an idol
4. winner is the only idol where i listen to the full album
these are not said by stans, but just normal people

conclusion: w is pretty fucking famous, seriously one of the most famous. all their comebacks got #1 except for ONE, Remember. before u say smth like "oh it fLoPed", there is a valid reason y it didn't do so well. and because it didn't get #1, doesn't mean it did bad jeez.

1. it's a FAN SONG. winner's main audience is the general public. ofc it's not going to do as well.
2. many people were boycotting all YG groups and actors bc of scandals (u know, papa YG. f u YHS)

winner is liked, and more importantly RESPECTED by the general public. their music is well-received and loved by all kinds of people. the group u stan who does well on foreign music charts? sorry to tell u, but koreans prob don't know who they are.

winner is 99% more well-known in korea than ur oppa, and that's a fact. ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯ there are few boy groups where people know each member by name, and which show they were on.

groups' popularity and how they r received, is different internationally, and in korea. so saying winner is "underrated" is basically calling out ur ignorance in k-pop, and disregarding its true meaning
