How to interact with a little who is mute or cant communicate through words: ask yes or no questions, allow them to hold your hand or, grab your shirt or your pants or whatever grounds them and keeps them close to you, be attentive.

How not to interact with a mute or little who can not communicate through words:
Stand there on your phone ignoring them, allowing them to put things in their mouths, not paying attention to or taking your eye off of them, be impatient or ask questions they literally cant answer

This is from our partner who claims to have caregiver experience but literaly stands there on his phone while shiba crys and whines to get his attention because they cant express what they want. Shiba is very sensitive and the last thing we need is for shiba to have another

Parent abandon him.
