I just powered down my PC to swap in a new power strip, and now it refuses to POST. No beep codes, no useful errors. What the fuck.
I've shuffled all my RAM sticks, pulled my video card and drives, cleaned and reseated CPU. No change at all. Everything spins and lights up, fans spin, nothing beyond that. No beep codes, and the only mobo lights I have apparently indicate it's receiving power.
The only change I got was when all RAM was removed. Then it could continually power cycle every 30 seconds, which is apparently what my mobo (MSI z77a-g45) is supposed to do.
Something has failed and I'm okay replacing a part, but I have no idea if it's the PSU, mobo, or CPU. I can't find any leaky or bulging caps on the mobo. No scorch marks either. CPU looks fine, no visible damage. I don't know any way to inspect the PSU, but there's no burn smell.
Right now I'm looking at ordering basically a new computer and swapping parts until I find the bad one, but I can't return open parts. I'm open to any ideas on trying to identify the bad part.
