I made a @BeyondMeat burger tonight and I was quite impressed. It's not beef, but it is a reasonable facsimile.
Add some MSG it ups the meatiness, topping it with Parmesan and a fried egg made it even richer. Still definitely not beef, but it’s a reasonable meat substitute to have on my lunch plate
Also I ate both of these with no buns and very few toppings besides thin slices of cheese, I think in a heavily topped burger you would be hard-pressed to find a difference
The grassy Irish cheddar I used last night I think helped add some notes it was previously missing
