So, one silver lining to COVID and schools is that moving forward, it will be much easier to include parents in #bced school events. We do a Historical Halloween event each year at my school. Kids give a speech as a historical figure. Parents come. Good times are had by most. /1

This year, obviously it's not possible.

So @EHNews @WestVanSchools, we gathered up our gear and between the gym PA system, our document camera and Google Meets, we have managed to arrange a live broadcast that will also be posted to our Google Drive. /2

This is one of those things we'll keep doing in the After Times. As a #k12 #teacher, I know all too well about how it's tough when you job doesn't allow you to see the play/recital/speech your kid worked so hard to master. /3

#COVID has forced #teachers to figure so many things out. It's important to keep thinking about how our professional learning during COVID empowers our #teaching post-covid. Increasing access to the life of the school for working parents is definitely a keeper. /end
