So I see a whole Reddit thread right now about how surge of cases in Fraser Health = "East Indian" community to blame. I can't speculate anything - I don't have any numbers from Fraser Health or the province in front of me to show me who is doing what. However...
Health messaging is always for everyone. I encourage everyone from every community to have conversations with their elders about the virus and follow health protocols. How to be safe, the importance of wearing masks, staying in these small groups.
And when I say numbers - I mean demographics/ a break down about which cultural group is doing what because not even our provincial health officer touches on that in her briefings. Because this is a PUBLIC health crisis. Public = everyone.
I know im going a lot of directions on this thread right now. I desperately want it to be clear - I'm not defending anyone for breaking any rules. I think this health crisis has just shown how ugly things can get when any one group is targeted.
