1/ The United States reported another record-high average number of new coronavirus cases, bringing the seven-day average to about 71,832 – an increase of more than 20% compared to the previous week and an increase of about 40% from two weeks earlier.
Over the last month, the number of people hospitalized for COVID-19 climbed an estimated 46% and 29 states have set new records for new daily cases since the pandemic began.

– The S&P 500 fell 3.5% – the biggest drop since June – the Dow dropped 3.4%, and the Nasdaq slid 3.7%.
