36 studies from 16 countries have submitted data with 220 registered studies. A phenotype steering committee defined various case/control comparisons. The largest has 30,937 COVID-19 positive cases and > 1.7M controls.
5 genome wide significant loci were identified in freeze4. GenOMICC ( @kennethbaillie + team) generously contributed their summary statistics (pre-print here: https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.09.24.20200048v2). With this, 4 additional loci are genome wide significant.
Some loci point to clear biology— genes that are lung and immune related. The initiative hopes to add robustness to other studies, rather than identify novel loci. Results are here: https://www.covid19hg.org/results/
