1 of 10 Had an annual physical yesterday, which had put off since Spring. Doctor wouldn't refill prescriptions without another physical.

The outpatient clinic did a screening on-line. If any symptoms or risks, then to cancel and re-schedule.
Entering building had another screening. Masks required to enter building.

Asked several questions about exposure / symptoms, if been tested. They took my temperature. Put an orange wrist band on me to indicate that I had passed through the pre-screening.

I passed.
Physician reception had 2nd screening with additional questions.

Had I travelled outside state in last 21 days?
Any higher risk exposures - prisons, nursing homes, conventions, etc.
Asked about symptoms, exposures, if tested.

I passed.
They had removed half their chairs & the sofa. No magazines out anymore. Only 1 other person waiting, so they were clearly spacing people out on appointment times too.

Staff wearing typical ill fitting surgical masks where air will blow out sides (not tight). đŸ˜·đŸ™„
Doctor came into room wearing a ratty looking N95 mask with a vent. He had no cover mask over the vent!! đŸ˜·đŸ€š

I wore N95 mask with a vent WITH a 2nd mask over my vent. Doctor immediately noted my N95.

I decided not to confront him about his uncovered vent.
Doctor, just like me, had boxes of N95 masks from years ago purchased after a prior pandemic scare. He was using those in the office. He also wore N95 when he flew on a vacation recently. Like me, he also wore plastic glasses over eyes.

Airlines require vent be covered.
He understood the concept to protect himself. Doctor clearly didn't care about whether protecting me because he was not covering his vent that directed his breath towards me. Maybe he gets tested frequently?

I figured not worth hassling him & kept silent on the matter.
Doctor made me take off my masks to examine my throat & mouth, so breathing right in front of my face.

I put back on my overcover 2nd mask after for rest of exam. Takes time & hand hygiene to put on my double layer mask system.

He is rather cursory in his exam.
Think this doctor must do the minimum exam to get paid. I need to find a better doctor who takes more time, but he is a gate keeper to a good hospital if anything serious happens. That's worth something.

I can now refill my prescriptions for another year. 👍
The clinic moved blood draw etc. for lab work into their office in a special room. I had to wait for a short time in a large open waiting area.

Prior to Covid was sent downstairs to the "Lab". The Lab had a cramped waiting area with poor air circulation & always was backed up.
After visited family, who haven't seen in person in 7 months

Changed to fresh clothes in car (tricky), Lysol on shoes, hand wipes on vinyl purse.

Brought fresh mask for family visit, but did not wear N95. We have all been rather isolated & careful, so low risks.
