Typical @mlb here. A problem exists. Blame the players. Take no responsibility. Take note of public perception. Launch a partisan investigation to appease the public. Has anyone bothered to consider how a player who was supposed to be protected by the “bubble” protocol supposedly
contracted the virus? First thing wrong here: as I’ve noted before, the bubble protocol was...porous, to put it kindly. Second problem here, why are a players medical results being broadcast to the world? Unless @redturn2 explicitly approved of his test results being shared, that
Seems like a HIPPA violation and some network is going to be in a lot of trouble. Third, from a player’s perspective, being asked not to celebrate winning “a piece of metal” with your teammates, who you’ve already sat next to that day in the locker room, showered with, high-fived
in the dugout, etc. is RIDICULOUS. By MLB logic, players are allowed to sit next to each other in the dugout but not spray Champaign together after winning. Unless they’re making the claim that Champaign helps spread the virus, this is an absurd policy strictly implemented to
appease public pressure. Now, with all that said, I’m not saying players did nothing wrong here, because I don’t know what actually happened. I wasn’t there. But to blame this SOLELY on a player, regardless of what happened, is asinine.
