Being Timed Out / Banned, a thread:

Twitch streamers generally mod people they trust. Especially now that theres a VIP badge for the people you like but know are memers or something. Any judgment passed out by a twitch mod is probably something the streamer stands for.
Most streamers have a discord! This discord almost always has a mod channel, and the mods almost always talk about serious issues like a conversation about being timed out, or why someone got banned. The streamer is always aware of these choices, and weigh in when they disagree.
This means if you get banned and aren't unbanned, the streamer agreed with the decision. You do not deserve their direct time for a conversation, that is what a mod is for. Stop trying to reach out to streamers about 'rogue mods' because that doesn't happen.
If you find yourself being timed out at all, the general response should be to move past it. Apologize in chat if you feel you should and make sure you avoid that behavior in the future. Timeouts aren't a big deal, its like a slap on the wrist.
What you do after being timed out/banned is actually pretty important, and your involvement in the community should factor into your response. You're always free to DM a mod (not the streamer) about the incident. Streamers dont owe you anything, so dont reach out to them.
If you plan to DM someone about what happened, you should be ready to apologize. If you dont know what it was for you can ask, but be extremely receptive to the response. You can explain your POV but if you aren't apologetic regardless of what you believe, you will stay banned.
Stating any distaste for their choices, opinions, or telling them why theyre wrong should result in you remaining banned. Its not your channel, and they speak for the streamer to build an atmosphere. You fucked up, not them, almost regardless of the ban. Disagree? Move on.
Never be the idiot who DMs with "Just admit you made a mistake and unban me" because you just get laughed at by the mod team and word will get around about how shitty of a person you are. You'll probably earn yourself channel bans in other communities simply from word of mouth.
Finally, dont talk about how channels banned you for x y z reasons, because honestly it just makes the mods want to ban you before you cause shit there too. Bragging about being banned is an embarrassment. Even if the streamer is shitty, it means you were probably shitty too.
