I unironically think this is fine and we should do at least some version of it in America. https://twitter.com/berniespofforth/status/1320860041910591489">https://twitter.com/berniespo...
In principle, the best thing to do is quarantine all close contacts of positive tests.

Then, give them *antigen* tests every day for 7 days. https://twitter.com/meisterbuerger/status/1321534848830504960">https://twitter.com/meisterbu...
PCR tests are of course more accurate.

HOWEVER-- they can take a long time to get tested. And you& #39;re only gonna PCR test somebody ONCE. And they are also a ton more painful and invasive.
One false positive PCR is very "costly."

But requiring "3 consecutive negative antigen tests on 3 consecutive days" means you& #39;ll deal with false positives/negatives much better.
Relying on *one* antigen test is bad. That creates problems with asymptomatics.

But "you& #39;re here a minimum of 5 days, and until you get 3 negatives in a row" should deal with almost all the false negative issues.
No.

You& #39;d have one Waco.

And then people would comply. https://twitter.com/Bouje99/status/1321535193430315011">https://twitter.com/Bouje99/s...
if only i wrote an article in a national newspaper saying exactly these things back in May https://twitter.com/acnetj/status/1321536438484094976">https://twitter.com/acnetj/st...
but folks, there& #39;s not gonna be weekly Wacos if we& #39;re paying people a quarantine wage replacement, it& #39;s in a decent quality hotel, and you get out after a couple days with negative tests. People will comply.
How do I know people will comply?

Because compliance with lockdowns was very high!
Which is crazy, because lockdowns are ridiculous and also basically weren& #39;t being enforced. Still blows my mind y& #39;all took that one lying down. We didn& #39;t have one in HK so I dunno what I would have done, but that was a big shocker to me.
