🧠 B R A I N S C A N #GW6 ->

As usual I watched most of the games in GW6. I'll combine some observations from those with some general thoughts on each team and the players of most #FPL interest to us going fwd. I'll go team by team not game by game this time. Ok let's get to it!
ARS - They're just very, very boring right now. Not what I expected with a Pep disciple in charge. They don't look like conceding many and they definitely don't look like scoring many. Only Bellerin has slight appeal for me but just avoiding for now.
AVL - Not what we stocked up on Villa players for! Leeds were too good on the day, but Grealish could easily still have hauled (1 off the line, maybe fouled in the box, nearly scored worldy). Still like JG & Martinez a lot. Barkley & Watkins could easily come good next time out.
BHA - They continue to flatter to deceive, with some nice football, plenty of possession, great underlying defensive stats but not scoring many goals or getting many cleans. Lamptey, Trossard & Maupay still appeal somewhat, they'll do ok, but I'm not rushing to get any of them.
BUR - They remain less than inspiring to watch, but defended well, nearly held our Spurs assets at bay. I have no interest in their 'attacking' players, even if Wood has decent underlying numbers. Any nailed 4.5m def from here still looks a reasonable pick.

CHE - This is not what we expected when all the exciting attacking names arrived! But Frank has been getting slated and needed to address the defence. Chilwell definitely appeals as a TAA alternative, and I think Werner, Puli et al will come good eventually but no urgency to add.
CRY - Zaha does it again and not via pens this time. He does look more dangerous playing up front a lot, but Palace are too defensive for him to really appeal to me, plus it's Wolves next and Mili may be back to take pens. Hoping Mitchell somehow keeps a spot despite PVA's return
EVE - Well they were about due a stinker. They really struggle without Richarlison who remains banned. Hamez is banged up and Digne will now miss 1 game (following successful appeal). Supply lines to DCL have thus been weakened but Newcastle next and more nice fixtures after GW8.
FUL - Lookman looks good, man. It's a shame his teammates do not. Avoid their players and target the fixture.

LEE - I'll be amazed if they can maintain this incredible tempo all season, but it's v impressive and some teams just can't cope with it, which is when the chances come.
Lots of the chances come to Bamford, who's defying his weak record as a finisher. He's certainly great value but I still expect him to cool off a bit. Ayling & Dallas appeal too, and their games are great to watch. When does the Bielsa statue go up in Leeds? Nvm it already did!
LEI - Poor first half, good adjustments from Brodge, much better 2nd half and Vardy comes on and does what he does. Justin remains a bargain for now, Castagne a good asset, Barnes ok, Vardy will appeal when fit with decent fixtures.

LIV - Solid after a slightly dicey start.
It was never a pen đŸ˜€ - good tackle just outside the box. Losing VVD & Fab obvs a problem going fwd altho they'll still dominate most games. Front 4 all looked great. Mo even more dangerous when they play that 4-2-3-1 and he's the tip of the spear. Jota continues to play v well.
MCI - Strugglesville again but they were better once Foden came on at HT and they picked up the tempo. Looked better yesterday in UCL with Kev back starting (duh), and I think it'll click a bit soon. IMO Foden won't get benched often as City were v poor the last few times Pep...
left him out when it mattered (Lyon, WHU). He's a bargain, Kev & Raz will deliver over time and Cancelo starting to look interesting.

MUN - Didn't see much of this and sounds like I missed very little. I'm still highly interested in Rashford (OOP with so much skill, pace and...
.. shooting power - it'll come together) and Bruno (all round baller plus pens, just an FPL points magnet). WanB a decent shout at 5.4m too as the fixtures improve.

NEW - It might be a case of being too harsh on the team I support but I think we look terrible. V lucky to draw.
I would avoid except for possibly Wilson as the main man up top with pens. St Max is fine but not exciting because we are stuck too deep the whole time. Defence isn't good either, despite parking the bus most of the time. Ugh.

SHU - They don't look tight at the back without...
.. Hendo or JOC. They don't create much, and Brewster looks a bargain on paper but doesn't look so good on the grass so far. Still a decent 1st sub option and let's see how he does when fixtures improve in a few weeks. Otherwise nothing to see here.

SOU - They look really good..
.. and the briefly terrible start was such a head fake. McCarthy, KWP, Ings & Adams all look like good assets except now I have none of them, having started with 3. Should've had faith in HasenhĂŒttl. Both the attacking and defensive numbers now look good, as they did post restart
TOT - It was tough going and not easy on the eye against Burnley but they got there in the end and Jose will have loved this 1-0 win. He did not love the very 2020 post-game 'celebrations'. If you have Kane and Son keep them, if you don't, consider adding altho fixtures turn...
.. soon and they've wildly outperformed xG etc. FBs rotating too much to consider.

WBA - They've got things together a bit defensively and they showed fight and some invention to come back in this one and had late chances to win it. Pereira & Johnstone look fine, that's about it
WHU - Another solid outing and it's such a pity that Antonio appears to have an injury (wait for press conf) just as we get close to the fixture swing. Soucek remains appealing if you want a cheap mid. Bowen is good but prefer Foden at the same price. Masuaku & Coufal of interest
WOL - Great first 15, dominating the Toon but gradually reverted to overly cautious stodge. They got better when Marcal came on for Saiss, but will Nuno be willing to give up any solidity? There are 2 spots for Marcal, Saiss, Kilman and it's anyone's guess who the odd man out is.
Jimi owners got a bit lucky - Darlow should've done better and he wasn't much of a threat otherwise. Podence played well, looked quite dangerous, then got the early hook for 3 points. Rinse & repeat.
