Welcome back to the @DailyLobo's coverage of the UNM football team. We have another press conference with Danny Gonzales and other members. Will update this thread if anything comes from this meeting.

Funnily enough I was just asked what organization that I am affiliated with, as Frank Mercogliano didn't know who I was affiliated with . So I had to state that I'm with the @DailyLobo... (no harm, no foul. I also found it to be quite funny ). Coach Gonzales is now speaking.

Coach Gonzlaes on the teams moral: "Their exited to have this opportunity."

Coach is now talking about the Lobo's and their status in the New Mexico community. "I think that the Lobo's are the biggest draw in town." Is now going through the history of the UNM Athletics program and the big games that they have had over their many years.

Asked about the defense and the defensive line: "there's a couple of concerns." says that their are some concerns at cornerback, due to injuries, but says that "(the team) is exited." Also, no new COVID tests have been found.

Coach continues to state that "we're gonna be rusty and miss some tackles." but says that "on Sunday, we'll have teaching tape." and that the team will have real game experiense and can see the technique that has been taught by Coach Rocky Long and Gonzales.

Coach Gonzales has finished his section, we are now wating on a few players to show up.

Jordan Kress is now speaking, he is one of the members of the UNM football team that had tested positive for COVID eariler this year. Says that he found out his diagnosis after complaining about a heart issue. Also says that he was asymptomatic.

Asked about the support he got from the team and his family: "They gave me the greates support." said that he was constantly asked about when he was coming back. Kress also said that "huge support from the community." has been great, wither they are for or against playing.

Says that the team has gone through tough times, "We've gone through some obsticles." Says that a lot of great things are happening here, including a change in culture.

A note to add about Kress. He was initially diagnosed with myocarditis, or inflamation of the heart and then they found COVID. Also adds that "I might play this week." Also says that any player that tests positive for COVID must get an ekg and other things before they can return

Kress has left and Teton Saltes is now speaking. Saltes was on instagram live with Tim Tebow yesterday, and Saltes said that "it was cool," and that "for me it's huge." also says that it was special for him and his family.

Saltes on the offensive line that he is a part of: "I think were solid upfront." adds that "I'm exited to see them play," which is in reference to a number of the younger offensive linemen. adds that the team is confident.

Press sesion is finished. We now wait for Saturday which will see @UNMLoboFB take the field against San José State at 5 p.m. Mountain Time on Fox Sports 1. Thanks for reading this thread, and have a great rest of your day.
