Unfortunate that @joerogan choose to host #AlexJones, who extols:

💉 - Anti-vaccine propaganda
✖ - "White genocide" rhetoric
☀ - Climate change denial

&, for good measure, rendered Sandy Hook survivors hate figures, all for this sort of intellectual heavy-weight analysis..đŸ˜”
..After a massacre in Sandy Hook saw 20 children & 6 adults murdered, survivors became objects of hate, chiefly because Alex Jones pushed that narrative they were fakes. Seriously. As I wrote in The Irrational Ape, what they endured was horrific. Upsetting, but important..
..the problem, @joerogan, is that all our data tells us exposure to conspiracy theory alone sways people to accept dangerous fictions; for example, anti-vaccine propaganda (like Jones excels in) the number one driver of vaccine hesitancy. He's alas not harmless buffoon.
Loads of reasons for this: illusory truth effect (repeated exposure to falsehood primes us to accept it), availability heuristic (we tend to remember "shocking" claims more readily than reliable information), anecdotal fallacy (emotive fictions > neutral facts) etc..
