Being on social media is a weird, sort of toxic relationship. It can be so strenuous and stressful simply because it has a bloodlust. The whole system has a bloodlust. It chases people to be on it ALL THE TIME and respond ASAP. Comment on issues, be outraged, trend a hashtag
This sort of sick trap that it is setting is honestly just pushing us back. This instant reaction thread that the ecosystem thrives on is psychologically damaging and stressful. We detest being egged to react to things. We take the time to think on issues and what we say
A lot of our plans and a lot of things we do for issues etc is done offline. We don't necessarily talk about them online. It doesn't mean we don't do anything. It also means we have a life outside of this reactionary social media system.
The best way is to politely ask if we know about an issue. Expecting us to know every issue then demanding a reaction is not going to be tolerated. Neither should you be tolerating this social media bloodlust. It solves no problems but leaves you with grief. Be mindful #rant
