I dropped to PT & took our 1st born on baby friendly assignments the first several months of parenthood ⁦⁦ @MiamiHerald⁩ 21 yrs ago. We tried to make it work the best we could but having no paid parental leave was not fair & still is not fair to our colleagues @mcclatchy.

@mcclatchy and @tribune must do better. That our colleagues and fellow journalists planning families still have zero paid parental leave is truly unacceptable.

As much as I love so many of the memories of juggling babies and cameras with @waltermichot , without paid parental leave our options were few and our income was definitely impacted. @mcclatchy and @tribune must do better in 2020 for families.

BTW, That happy, adorable, baby boy turns 21 today!! Happy Birthday!!
