Yesterday Rasoul Iran-Nejad, Shiva Mohammad Panahi and their children Anita, Armin and baby Artin lost their lives trying to cross the Channel. This is what happens when governments fail to provide people with safe routes. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-54717137
Together we can make a stand and get the government to open up safe routes for people to get to the UK. Let's stop this from happening again. Here's two things you can do right now:
1) Write to your MP to say reopen #SafeRoutesToSafety. The UK’s refugee resettlement scheme has been paused since March. As holiday flights restarted in summer, it’s a puzzle that resettlement hasn’t. What's missing?
Take action now: https://act.refugee-action.org.uk/page/67081/action/1?ea.tracking.id=u3fsxjhj
2) Add your name to demand a change of the rules so child refugees can be reunited with their loved ones. Currently adult refugees are able to sponsor their close family to join them in the UK - but child refugees are not. https://www.amnesty.org.uk/actions/families-together
