Why don't abuse victims of well-loved leaders come forward? Here's a great example of why they often don't.

I recently posted a (I thought pretty mild) video on the Ravi Zacharias accusations, in which I stated that the evidence seemed to be pretty credible. Since then, my phone is blowing up with notifications of YouTube comments accusing me of being an abuser myself, a pedophile,

an agent of Satan, a tool of the illuminati, someone under God's eternal condemnation, etc.

Now, imagine being a victim of the abuse (sexual or otherwise) of someone well-loved, and receiving these kinds of messages constantly. Abuse victims of such people know _exactly_ what will happen if they speak out. They will often be the ones who have to face the consequences

rather than the abuser himself/herself.
