@jaketran33 @KnowledgeHubTy and @CaspianReport should band together and make their own content website. They could probably get other really popular creators to join too.

Fuck it, Content Creation thread time.
Content Creation is a disruptive innovation, as coined by Clayton Christensen in The Innovator’s Dilemma.

It follows the trend perfectly, and has already reached TVs quality on the NorthWestern march up the Value Chain.
It started as a lower quality entertainment alternative, but it created a new cost structure that has (and now is realizing) its potential to completely outcompete traditionally funded and produced media.

The quality has begun to match TV, at decimals of the cost.
Yet we have reached a point where the allocation of resources doesn’t match the clear potential for radical change for how we consume media that content creation promises. This is due to the platform which controls (at least upload based) content creation, YouTube.
I call this the ‘Patreon inefficiency’ because the creators patrons enjoy the content so much, that they make up for the misallocation through monthly donations. This is how much they enjoy the creators they watch. Instead of traditional income
For creators through ad revenue on their videos, they have to accommodate for the $2CPM they get (after YTs 45% cut) by supplementing it with user donations.
YouTube isn’t treating content creation like a disruptive innovation, but like a continuous one.

They push old style media, and bland ‘tried and true’ genres on their users. They try and get celebrities to make channels instead of investing the the creators which have made
YouTube what it is today, the largest media conglomeration and dispersal system in history.

What needs to happen is a new platform (or publisher) who is willing to invest in their creators, in order to keep increasing the quality for what are truly original ideas
Like imagine giving @CaspianReport a $2000-$3000 per video budget just to get videos made, not even including the probable cut from ad revenue and continued donations.

He’d be able to add mainstream quality (which his quality is already good) to an insanely
Intelligent and informative show.

Or imagine giving @FlashgitzAnims the budget for an animated pilot for a full length show.

Or a collaboration project between @regularcars and @KnowledgeHubTy discussing generational theory, and how it all led to where we are today?
Or imagine giving @HistoriaCivilis the ability to write and direct a show based on the fall of the Roman Republic? Hell, I get excited just seeing the little cubes plotting each other’s demise, imagine giving him actors or a Love, Death, Robots quality animation studio.
The possibilities are endless. I was attempting to create the platform, but I didn’t have the clout to get enough attention from creators. So, it’s up to an established creator to bring about the needed change and natural progression of this disruptive innovation.
If any creator ends up inspired and wants to do this, please contact me and I’ll give you all of my materials. Market research, industry growth projections, a really well (I think) thought out marketing campaign, and much more.

I’d like to work with anyone doing this
Even as an employee (tho I have a few multiples of $10k I’d like to invest), but even if whomever is not interested in working with me, I’d still like to give them the materials.

I’d wanna be a part of it, but it’s more important that this thing just exists.
