Once again, a @nytimes poll is undercounting Texas Latinos in a poll and making sweeping generalizations. Here is the link that boldly claims that Latinos in Texas are rushing to Trump. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/10/26/upshot/texas-polls-biden-trump.html">https://www.nytimes.com/2020/10/2...
Ok, stick with me here. The poll had a total of 802 respondents across ALL OF TEXAS.
The Latino subgroup in that poll is 26%.
The Latino subgroup in that poll is 26%.
That would mean that this poll asked just 209 Texas Latinos.
209 Latinos.
And wait, it gets even more interesting....

Texas& #39; Latino population is close to 40%.
And, this poll asked only 14% of 18-29 yrs old Texas and ANYONE who knows anything about Latino voters in Texas is that it is very NEW and YOUNG.
So, @UpshotNYT makes yet another bold claim on a poll that included 209 Texas Latinos and

I would guess that the number of young Latinos is not even 50 voters in this poll.
This, at a time when all I am getting out of Texas is news that young Latinos are voting early.

Am not saying that Trump won& #39;t do well with Texas Latinos, but the one thing I still think this latest poll ignores is the recent work to get young Texas Latinos to vote.
Veremos but once again @UpshotNYT& #39;s Latino ignorance is clear.

What is doesn& #39;t take into account, besides such a small sample size, is what has happened in Texas with Latino voters. Another miss.
