Pruitt: “We’ve had two really good practices this week, an opportunity to go back to fall camp mode.”

Said they have held some players out of practice this week but that the guys have had “good attitudes” this week.
Pruitt: “We’ve taken the first two days to really focus on us. We will continue that for the next couple of days. Each day, we’ll add a couple periods working on Arkansas.”
Pruitt: “We obviously have not played very clean football in the first five games. Just trying to clean that up this week.”

Said they’ve worked “less experienced guys” this week to focus on depth.
Pruitt: “There was a couple times, we were probably in four-down territory... twice that we converted on third down by running the football. The longer you take on third down... just from a game plan standpoint, there was times we could create an advantage by playing fast.”
Pruitt: “We’ve been very fortunate now... done a nice job with COVID. I think we learned some lessons back in the summertime.”

Said team will be off next Tuesday, Election Day, and the Friday and Saturday before that.

“I have confidence that they’ll do the right thing.”
Pruitt said he’ll wait until the season is finished to find another defensive line coach.

“We’ve got to improve up there. Got to be able to play on the other side of the line of scrimmage, create negative plays, and affect the quarterback.”
Pruitt said his team has done a “nice job” from a leadership standpoint.

“From an attitude, effort, want-to every day at practice, I felt like our guys are going in a positive direction.”
Pruitt: “Defensively, we’ve made a lot of mistakes... a lot of unforced errors.”
Pruitt said Monday was focused on guys that didn’t play a lot against Alabama, that Harrison Bailey and Brian Maurer took several snaps in practice that day.
Pruitt: “(Bye week) has been about opportunity. There’s certain positions on our team, whether it’s the backups, have very little experience at the collegiate level. Some of these guys missed the majority of fall camp and haven’t been able to create a role for them on the team.”
Said they’ve focused a lot conceptually and trying to develop that in a fall camp mentality.
