In the Tech hearing so far. Zuck was late for "technical issues". Jack Dorsey said that Sabre rattling by foreign dictators is ok but Trump tweets can be censored because it's to his own people.

The Zuck says that most of the content on facebook isn't political, it's someone announcing the birth of their baby to a cousin.

Zuck says he is not the decider of politcal speech (referee) and does not want to be, Dorsey says no, Pichai says no.

Zuck says he partners with fact checkers around the world and their standards are public. Other CEO's agree.

Blumenthal complains about these hearing being so close to the election and Trump this and Trump that.

Cruz says facebook is making some efforts to fix things but are a threat. He believes google is one of the most powerful and dangerous companies on the planet politically. He thinks twitter's conduct is egregious.

Dorsey says twitter has no impact on elections.

Jack is conducting his video from what looks to be his back yard and looks to have the beard and coat of a homeless man.

Ted Cruz is asking Jack why he is acting as an unelected super pac?

Brian Schatz says this hearing is bullying, he says that tech CEO's should not change anything.

Cantwell says mail in voting in safe and she doesn't want info to the contrary online. She says people should be able to make outrageous claims as well.

Markey says this is all peddling a myth and doing the bidding of the President. That there is a false narrative of conservative bias.

Now he's going on about extremest groups allowed to flourish. Zuck says most groups are normal social groups.

Baldwin uses examples of the President tweeting we are rounding the corner on Covid to both push the Covid narrative and attack Trump. Jack points out that she's wrong about it not having a warning on it.

Now she's saying Facebook is allowing "militia" groups free reign and brings up the plot to kidnap the dictator in Michigan (my description). Zuck says he bans things, brings up Qanon. He's worried about civil unrest.

Mike Lee is pointing out examples of conservative censorship. He says he doesn't see examples on the other side. Can any CEO give an example of a high profile Democrat. Zuck is having trouble answering. Wow, Zuck says he needs to think about it. He will have to get back to him.

Jack is giving a vague example but no specific name.

Pichai gives vague answer. No specific high profile person.

Lee says these companies are deceiving their customers since policies are not enforced fairly. Zuck says these inconsistencies are mistakes. Jack says there is no bias and that they need more transparency.

Duckworth is disappointed in the hearing and the Republicans. Says Trump is scared of our true enemies. Says that Republicans are destroying our democracy. Her camera is too close to her face and down giving her a pig like appearance.

She says facts matter, she says foreign actors are intervening in our elections asks the CEO's to agree. They do.

Ron Johnson wants to know what the politcal views of the employee base is. Zuck says they lean left. He tells Jack he is not trusted and he is surprised that he thinks twitter can't influence elections. Zuck says that the FBI contacts him on some information.

Johnson says there was a tweet claiming he strangled a dog and they would not remove it, he says it could affect his ability to be re-elected.

Sentor Tester says the hearing is an election ploy and a push to allow bad info on their platforms. He says this is all politics says Americans are smart enough to know better. He says he wants both sides checked. If Biden said something false too.

Scott is talking about Chinese oppression and state run media. Says that social media is trusted by the people but he says it's obvious that conservative are targeted. Brings up Biden laptop and the Post yet dictators can use things freely.

Jack says he allows people to call out incorrect statements and that twitter doesn't censor it, they provide warnings.
