(1/8) #HurricaneZeta UPDATE: Please prep this morning, take shelter by 2pm.

As of 7am #Zeta is expected to make landfall this afternoon, potentially as a Category 2. It's moving quickly, with #NewOrleans directly in its path. Prep for rain, heavy wind gusts, and power outages.
(2/8) We'll keep folks updated in our #ImagineMutualAid group, as well as via Instagram, throughout the day today. Links to both are in this thread.

#HurricaneZeta Prep checklist:

✅ Move car to higher ground. Parking restrictions are now lifted.
(3/8) ✅ Secure outdoor projectiles like Halloween decorations, trash cans, patio furniture, and plants. Yes, this includes your pumpkins!

✅ Bag leaves, and clear storm drains to help reduce street flooding.
(4/8) ✅ Fill bathtub and jugs w/ water. If the water supply is affected, we use tub water to flush toilets and wash up. The jugs of water are used if there's a boil water alert, which can happen sometimes when the power goes out. Bonus tip: Put some water bottles in the freezer.
(5/8) ✅ Charge all electronic devices. This includes phones, portable battery packs, and laptops. Laptops can be used to charge phones again, in the case of a power outage.
