Met a 30 something gay boy who doesn't share drinks "cos HIV" but I'm told he does blow jobs for $50
Honestly how in 2020 are poofs so ignorant of HIV when they could just ask a doctor?
"Results from the largest study to analyse HIV transmission risk among homosexual couples with differing HIV status have shown that HIV positive men who are on treatment that makes the virus undetectable, do not transmit HIV to their partners"
https://kirby.unsw.edu.au/news/effective-hiv-treatment-halts-hiv-transmission-among-homosexual-couples-study-finds
Basically the number of HIV+ Australians has hovered around 25,000 for many years.
I think if it was transmissible thru sharing a cup there'd probably be millions of poz Aussies.
It's not covid ppl
So my HIV story is I had anonymous intercourse sex just twice in 2001 (unprotected) and my infector didn't tell me he was HIV
I was highly anxious then & just wanted to be loved but I made a mistake so I dont blame him even though he probably knew his status
It was dark when we had sex so I didn't notice his lipodistrophy until I saw him again at the Laird hotel
Lipodistrophy is a fat loss side effect from antivirals which causes telltale facial creases in poz ppl
That's how I knew. I didn't confront him & never saw him again
I seroconverted shortly after being infected 19 years ago this month.
Fortunately I use a new better class of drugs which don't cause lipodistrophy but I was on the famous AZT originally.
Blood levels are monitored mainly CD4 white blood count and a viral load count
I think it's still the case if CD4 count goes <250 a patient has AIDS but I only got down to about 330 in 2003 when I started taking medication and basically no one gets to AIDS stage anymore.
Viral load <50ppm is generally considered "undetectable" which I've been since 2003
The UNSW study proved that medication compliant poz ppl with undetectable viral loads don't transmit
This is why PREP, which is taking HIV medication immediately after a risky situation like unprotected sex, is vital to stopping new transmissions from taking hold in negative ppl
I had an embolism in 2011 which was 99% attributed to one of my medications Neviripine which I stopped taking
I have taken a 3 x drug in one pill combination which seems to have no side effects yet.
My stroke was from a completely unrelated condition called haemochromotosis
Apart from the stroke I'm quite healthy. Unfortunately the chronic fatigue from the haemochromotosis which ultimately caused the stroke was wrongly attributed to the HIV so I thought I had to live with it until a GP finally made the correct diagnosis in 2014
Treatment for haemochromotosis began immediately but wasn't soon enough to stop the ischaemic stroke suffered 3 years later but the GP finding it when he did & commencing treatment when he did almost certainly saved my life imo
Anyway this is a HIV thread I'll pin for a while. I've encountered a lot of HIV phobia from gays & family. I haven't had sex since 2008 but due to the haemochromotosis I was impotent anyway. Not anymore 😏 but still not attractive to many ppl & I'm not interested in casual sex
That's it I think. I might add new tweets if I think of them.
I'm completely at ease with my disease. I plan to live another 40 yrs at least.
Thank you for reading my HIV story and for the love of dog wear a condom, gay or not.
