I remember meeting a super wealthy man in Pakistan and my cousin mentioned he is running to become a member of Parliament for PMLN (Nawaz Sharif’s party).

I questioned why?

He owes bank (I assume state) 5-10 Crore rupees and it gets written off if you’re in government.
The current government may not be great, and no government or politician is perfect.

But one thing I do know is that Imran Khan will never rob the country like the previous leaders have done. This man is a genuine change maker, wether he is good at it or not is another matter.
Pakistan is a country where only 0.57% - 1% of the population paid taxes.

Nobody pays tax there.

Imagine being elected as a pm and trying to implement a corrupt system where nobody pays taxes.

Corruption is a mindset and it’s going to take decades to change that.
The rich and elite are shitting it now because they have to abide by the laws.

Imagine giving away 5%-35% of your income in taxes all of sudden. The tax system is alien to most.

It is understandable why so many Pakistani liberals from elite class are against him.
Pakistan International Airline was the nation’s pride once and a world class airline.

The PIA technical experts and pilots literally set up Emirates airlines from scratch and trained up its staff.
Imagine going from being experts in what you do to atttaining the brand one of the worst airline brands out there.

This is all a result of mismanagement and corruption at the top.
I personally know people working in the state tax department living luxurious lifestyle to not being able to leave the office as soon as Khan was elected.

‘Phat rahi hai sabh ki’ is what he said because we have to do work now.
Why isn’t Imran Khan speaking up against China?

China is the biggest foreign investor in Pakistan. Would leader of a 220m people country be that stupid to create friction with its close ally? Would the U.K. do this with USA? No.
A country with shortage of electricity is being helped by China to meet the demand by building dams.

What do you want Imran Khan to do? Cut ties so that more poor people of the country starve? Right?
Aside from financial investments, China has always been a close ally for geopolitical reasons.

This entire CPEC project is also to help increase Chinese interests in Kashmir (as it passes through Kashmir) to stop Indian invasion.
Does Imran Khan not care about Uighurs? Of course he does.

He is fully aware of that and conversations are taking place in private.

But he will never cut off a huge financial support to his poor people and create another enemy in the region. It would be stupid.
That is fine and he isn’t the only one.

Keir Starmer’s funded by pro-Israelis (£50k to his campaign). He isn’t going to attack them.

The British government don’t attack US or Israelis. We supply weapons to kill Palestinians - including labour governments.
Yet the U.K. talks about religious freedom and how it’s a champion in human rights.

It’s a rich country and financial interests take priority in western democracies too.
It’s always a good idea to mediate, de clutter your brain and just have a think.

Just because the news or certain blue tick individual said something, doesn’t mean they are right.
