There& #39;s so much job search advice on the internet from many amazing people.

I& #39;m going to highlight some of the best from Twitter.

I& #39;ve been jobless twice in my career so far, including a change of industry, so hopefully you& #39;ll learn something from this thread https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🧵" title="Thread" aria-label="Emoji: Thread">https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="⤵️" title="Nach rechts zeigender Pfeil mit Krümmung nach unten" aria-label="Emoji: Nach rechts zeigender Pfeil mit Krümmung nach unten">

When starting a job search it& #39;s very important to take a hard look at yourself. You have to determine:

https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="▫️" title="Weißes kleines Quadrat" aria-label="Emoji: Weißes kleines Quadrat">What are my value proposition?
https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="▫️" title="Weißes kleines Quadrat" aria-label="Emoji: Weißes kleines Quadrat">What& #39;s my story?

You& #39;re unique.

A company will look for certain skills that fit the job, but culture fit and a can-do mindset are just as high on the list IMO.

@KerriTwigg has a great method of finding your own career story. Learn from her about finding what your story is.

Then what?

You need a resume.

Combine your story together with your skills (hard and soft) and put emphasis on quantifiable results and achievements rather than dull tasks.

I& #39;d recommend following @kamaratoffolo for sound advice on resume writing.

And so the job search begins https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="⤵️" title="Nach rechts zeigender Pfeil mit Krümmung nach unten" aria-label="Emoji: Nach rechts zeigender Pfeil mit Krümmung nach unten">

Go after jobs where you tick most of the boxes from the job ad.

I won& #39;t recommend blasting 100s of resumes. Spend your time more meticulously.

Plan which jobs to apply for, then tailor you resume to every single one.

Don& #39;t just browse job boards, use your network https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="⤵️" title="Nach rechts zeigender Pfeil mit Krümmung nach unten" aria-label="Emoji: Nach rechts zeigender Pfeil mit Krümmung nach unten">

The most hires today are made through employee referrals, which points to your network being the most valuable asset of your career.

@careersherpa has a great tip on networking:

Create a network list in simple steps https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="⤵️" title="Nach rechts zeigender Pfeil mit Krümmung nach unten" aria-label="Emoji: Nach rechts zeigender Pfeil mit Krümmung nach unten">

When you& #39;re invited to an interview, the next part of job search begins.

Please remember that your resume is like an intro, and at the interview is where you complete the plot to seal the deal.

The interview process can be different from company to company https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="⤵️" title="Nach rechts zeigender Pfeil mit Krümmung nach unten" aria-label="Emoji: Nach rechts zeigender Pfeil mit Krümmung nach unten">

Before an interview, do some research about the company and the person that will conduct the interview.

An interview is a two way street. You also have to make sure that the company is a fit for you.

You don& #39;t want to end up at a horrible place right?

I& #39;ve done many interviews, but I& #39;m not on the same level as many others on this platform.

Follow a few recruiters and experts to get an idea of what you& #39;ll encounter.

A couple of my favorites:

In your job search try to take inspiration from President John F. Kennedy and think not what others can do for you. Think instead of what I can do for others.
