Beatitudes of the Autistic

Blessed are the bus drivers who arrive on time and do not just bypass the bus stop, for their rewards shall be timely.

Blessed are the hawker centre aunties who remember our orders and do not need us to say them, for they will receive our patronage.

Blessed are the neurotypicals who say "I like to be direct", for they will find themselves miscommunicating with us less.

Blessed are the self-diagnosed, for they shall find community and support amongst the like-minded.

Blessed are the parents of autistic children who do not speak over autistic adults, for they too shall be welcomed into the kingdom of the autistics.

Blessed are the architects and interior designers who take sensory needs into consideration, for they shall find eternal comfort.

Blessed are the researchers and academics who believe in engaging the autistic community, for theirs is true knowledge.

But most blessed are the autistics and all neurodivergent people because they are the persecuted, the meek, and the poor in spirit.

I'm extremely not religious and therefore terrified to tweet this hahaha (I feel like I will offend both the religious and atheist crowd)
