And here is what they said...
From @robstarlingart , a picture book which shows children “what they’re being given is narratives...a curated reality” and empowers them “to be questioning of what they’re presented with”. @PhoebeLSwan “I want to draw cities and childhood rewilded”...
And @gill__lewis would address climate change “how to change our world, change our system of living”. @MaisieParadise wld illustrate “the effect of poverty & deprivation on children..to show the kind of world I was from..the different worlds we grow up in;different ways we live”.
@TraceyCorderoy is concerned about our fractured society and wants to “explore this idea of belonging” in a picture book.While @TheJanePorter wants to create a book “which makes everyone feel really warm & happy about paying tax” (ie “the plot of It’s A Wonderful Life basically”)
@balirai wants to use books to create “An Empathy Army” inspired by the work of @EmpathyLabUK and @SmritiPH is “looking forward to a time when we won’t need these (social justice) books at all” #LittleRebelsAward
