why does the save dialog have an extension filter with only one extension, yet if you just type in a file name it gives you this fun box?

i really like ux design. i don't think i'd be great at it, but "designing a thing so that it's essentially invisible" is lovely
here's another odd thing that's annoying, though you wouldn't realise at first
the cursor snaps to the grid. that's fine, but you get no indication that you're pixels off the next grid line, so you click, your mouse moves ever so slightly, and you've placed something wrong

in this thread i am ignoring the blatant bugs. why do the dialog boxes just break sometimes and fail to modify the part
