Yesterday an unverified Twitter account claiming to be Woolworths (but accidentally misspelling that as 'Woolsworth' multiple times) claimed the shop was returning to UK high streets.

I realised the account was fake in about 20 seconds yet several UK news outlets reported the news as if it were fact.

You can't trust the media. Not because it's evil, or because I'm a conspiracy theorist, but because it's not about news. It's about clicks and advertising.

I'm not saying "Don't read the news". I'm saying check multiple sources and use your critical thinking.

Don't just accept what people tell you.
