The Baron are a family of lwa that operate on the points of The Moon, Mercury, Venus, and Mars. They are associated with death as the transition needed to give birth to life .

The Barons/Guede are known for being VERY VULGAR! They are boldly and openly queer. Some of them were banned because in possession, the Voodooists would perform lewd acts in public.

The Baron/Guede are also the patron lwa of queer folk. This lwa are very queer. There's no other way to put this. The Guede prefer queer sexual encounters. Transgendered, Homosexuals, Bisexuals, and Pansexuals are at high risk with these deities.

The Guede are also master magicians. They hold the power of miracle in their hands. They are also judges and clairvoyants. They draw their power from sexual vibration. They are deities of sex and acting on desire is the death of pretense/illusion....

The Guede are vulgar to represent man's hypocrisy. They are a making a mockery of societies definition of righteousness (which is why they also appear as Priest).

The Guede can be called to help with Ancestral work but human and Primordial. They also help with death magic, sex magic, Virility, fertility, and can give life to any thing dead be it flesh and/or idea.

The Guede also can still death. Another interesting fact about the Guede is they can also "take you under". The water spirits in Haitian voodoo are known for taking people "under the water" but the Guede also have an underground magical place where they initiate.

But for context, the FIRST Guede I'm gonna talk about actually are a pair:
Baron Lundy and Baron Limba

Baron Lundy and Baron Limba are one of the most powerful Guede as individuals and are almost unstoppable when they are together. They are damn near inseparable though.

Baron Lundy and Baron Limba are powerhouse magicians who tap into their resource by using primal passions as the nexus. These two lwa "wrestle" each other and every move, take down, strike, and block is actually symbolic of a key opening the next door/level

Baron Lundy and Baron Limba also initiate their followers through this same method. The devotees of these lwa partake in a sacred "dance" on their way to Ascension.

Y'all: Well then we never heard of them?!
Me: Well because they were banned. The possessions of Baron Lundy and Baron Limba were recorded to be dangerously (sometimes fatally) volatile. These lwa were also Notorious for being near impossible to cast out.

And if that wasn't enough, Baron Lundy and Baron Limba would cause the possessed individuals to engage in very rough, very explicit, and very public homosexual intercourse.

However, if you survived the experiences, you would be granted abilities. The stronger the vessel (Voodooist), the greater the power given (and the more volatile the possession). These lwa reward their followers with the powers of a Baron.
