Police officers are spread too thin. We never had enough to begin with

Now that they must cluster to be safe. This can easily wipe out a 2/3rd of spread.

They are also presently deployed to critical points

The barracks with families must now be defended. This is new.
barracks and stations were successfully breached and attacked.
Definitely a considerable number will be stationed there

Police stations that still stand must now have much more police at stations than usual.
People attacked them. Seized armoury
My friend in Akpabuyo who had to try to pacify a mob freshly arrived from burning a police station noted some were in uniforms and of course had police guns in addition to the usual.

I dont expect that police will
be as widely spread on the roads as was before the escalation of violence.

It is beyond them being petulant. and people will have to plan around it these ember months which are traditional crime heavy. and accident heavy.
and of course our rich people (from any sector) whether they are outraged or not will suck a percentage of police to themselves and thier assets. whether its plain clothes or partnering with thier private security companies or whatever

Brace yourselves until real calm sets
If you live in a place with a neighborhood association. meet for security plans and contact the nearest police station to you to liaise. They will give good preventive tips and work with you.
You may not like them but this is practical.

Negotiate leaving work late if possible
If you are a boss in God's name let your employees leave early. I know businesses(the ones surviving) are making up for lost time. But for this period just try.
Even at the best of times a shop attendant leaving at 9 pm to some distant home is vulnerable.
If you live in a traditional community within a city like me. Visit your village head.
We did so days ago to hear how we could key into what measures where being taken. I would say that our immediate area was pretty secure. touch wood.
Again this does not cover commuting
