Some thoughts running through my mind (a thread): 25 years of my life as been spent watching almost every single #Dodgers game. My first heartbreak was in '06 when J.D. Drew and Jeff Kent were tagged out at home in Game One of the NLDS vs. NYM. They were swept.
2008 and 2009 we saw the #Dodgers make the NLCS for the first time but the Phillies led by Shane Victorino and Matt Stairs sent me tearing up for the following weeks.
2013-2016 was heartbreak every #Postseason for the #Dodgers fans and especially Clayton Kershaw fans like myself. It was brutal watching the Cardinals take them down back-to-back seasons and nothing hurt more than Daniel Murphy's ride in 2015 and the Cubs in 2016.
In 2017 I attended my first #WorldSeries game as a fan. It was Game 5 at Houston. Little did I know what was really going on in the home dugout that game. That day, I drove 7 hours to get there and 7 hours back after the longest game in World Series history completely heartbroken
In 2018, I went to "cover" my first #WorldSeries and stood 5 feet away from Chris Sale holding the trophy. It was such a great experience to be there but to see the trophy in someone elses hands hurt. That Sox team completely deserved to win, that was the better team.
In 2019, there seemed like something, just something, was missing. Didn't go to a #Dodgers game that year, small things didn't work out, and it led to a Howie Kendrick grand slam to end it all.
So here we are, at the #WorldSeries and it feels real. It's not over. But if tonight is the night, it's been something I've waited for my whole life. A lot of people have trouble relating to that passion. I'll make it simple: It's in my name, it's my home, it's made me who I am.
