You guys, because I care about you, the weirdos that follow me on #Twitter: A #NorthernLights thread!

Here's #Comet C/2020 F3 (NEOWISE), and #ISS Expedition 63. Not much of a light show, but it counts. @csa_asc
August is the best time to visit @Algonquin_PP. This is Lake Traverse.
My partner in crime. Nothing like standing outside all night when it's -25° C hoping the interplanetary magnetic field will be south.
Self portrait. The Trans #Canada Highway is very straight between Regina and Brandon. This is a 30 second exposure at 100 km/h. Also visible: #Taurus Camera is on a tripod jammed against the passenger seat. 6.5mm lens, and an intervalometer.
Foggy night. On #humid nights, #dew is a problem. I use hand warmers on my #lenses to keep them clear. Nothing worse that driving 4 hours and having your lens fog up all night.

Once @Astropartigirl and I did a road trip. Sadly not the best light show, but #NorthernLights are like cats or something. Or maybe that's #comets. #stillcounts
Northern Lights with #zodiacal light.
In the spring under dark skies, you may be able to see zodiacal light in the west just after dark. In the fall, you can see it in the morning before sunrise.

And over #Mitchell Lake.
I was fortunate to see the #northernlights over the #hoodoos one time, but during the day I decided to drive to #Banff. I got stuck in traffic, and missed the best part.
Lesson learned: Don't drive to Banff if you want to see #AuroraBorealis in #Drumheller.

I should have stayed in #Rouleau but hit the road, so I missed getting the Dog River elevator with the #northernlights in the background. Had to settle for this. #Regret Oh well, next time. @CornerGas
You see some weird and amazing stuff some times. #lookup
