Tucker Carlson is the most-watched show in cable news. The Bobulinski story matters most with viewers who won't see it elsewhere, may not understand the nuance, but begin to realize how much the rest of the media might be covering for Biden. It seeds doubt.

That virtually my entire feed was buzzing about it and it did not even register as a trending story on Twitter is just another bit of data for people who already question the media's fairness.

Combining all the data points on the Hunter Biden story and it raises latent suspicions about how the media is handling truth. For a President they claim regularly lies, the media gives him fuel at the end of the campaign to show the media covers stuff up.

I continue to believe, however, that the danger of the story is that it distracts Republicans in the final week from the one message that the President always beats Joe Biden in polling -- jobs and the economy.
