Friends, my apologies...tonight’s @CJSW show is where I natter to ask you to help us run for another year.
Why? Two words I had not previously associated with college radio...mental health (1/n)

I was astounded to learn, this spring, contact to the station was at an all time high. Downloads, calls, texts to the booth.
We discussed why. As people were isolated in their homes, a real human voice was there to talk to them and play soothing music (ok, not my show) (2/n)

It warmed my cold black heart, that we could provide some mental health solace to folks.
I never thought of a radio show that way.
I always considered that my favourite misfits and I just liked to play tunes and yak about why we like them. (3/n)

It humbled me that we could be as ‘essential’ as seemed to be the case.
