I have seen countless handwringing articles about students "falling behind" in the pandemic and zero articles asking what sort of nightmare society is structured in such a ruthless, hypercompetitive way that any deviation from the expected life path is an unrecoverable loss?!
Moreover, what sort of nightmare society is structured in such a ruthless, hypercompetitive way that it's possible to "fall behind" at all?!
Worse still, what kind of nightmare society justifies exposing millions of people to premature death in order to "keep up"?!
