Let me tell y'all a story about how vision, faith, work ethic, and perseverance will help you accomplish your dreams..
In 2015, I was unemployed and unhappy. In 2016 I was employed and unhappy. I quit my job and started personal training and volunteering at UAB in the S&C department in a second stint on the faith that God told me he had me.
Like I was hesitant to turn in my letter of resignation.. And I literally heard Him say, "I got this". I started with 2 clients and within a month, I had 10. Within 6 months, I had 25. I got the chance to volunteer in what I wanted to do, S&C
I had began contemplating getting out of S&C because I couldn't land a job. I was the finalist for about 3 jobs and they always went with someone else with more experience and a better resume. That night I went on strength scoop & saw a chance at Bama.
I said, you know what, I am going to send my resume and see what happens. The next morning they emailed me back, and I started. When I walked in the first day, I said, "God I wanna be here for one semester & land a job." I worked hard! I woke up at 3:45am...
to drive to Tuscaloosa, leave by 1pm to get to my personal training clients because that's how I was making money. (I was still volunteering). Literally at the end of the semester, my mentor, Terry Jones, told me @teddyk95 was looking for a S&C coach...
At Allen University. One semester in. I became the first S&C coach at Allen University, at a new football program. I told God that I was going to work hard and be thankful and trust that when He was ready for me to move, that he would let me know.
When he let me know, I became the Dir of Sports Performance at THE @GSU_TIGERS @Grambling1901 working with @GSUCoachFobbs
This week I get to make my first hires as a Director of Sports Performance at a Division 1 School.

I tell y'all this story because I had a kid @ 16 years old. I got my first break after volunteering for 4 years from 2014-2018. I almost gave up, but my family pushed me to keep going.. I had people tell me that I should give up, get a regular job..
Trust God, have a circle that challenges you, work hard for what you want, bet on yourself, and keep going. Set goals and set a plan to accomplish them. I graduated from high school in 2000, I got my BA in 2013, my Master's in 2019...
Don't let others project their fears onto you. Don't allow what you haven't accomplished keep you from finding your passion. Your time is coming.. I promise you. Just keep getting up and throwing hands.
You can ALWAYS swing a fight in your favor if you have more time in the fight. Get up off that canvas, keep dreaming, and you can do anything you set your mind and heart to. Don't ever stop going.
