CW: Politics! 🇺🇸

It shouldn’t be a surprise to ANYONE where I stand on this. But since not saying much is saying a lot these days, let’s be clear: for people like me, this election isn’t politics. The story of our world, our country, and my household pivot around next week.
The days of picking “the right man for the job” out of a pair of middling moderate white men with different fiscal policies is over. You and I should never forgive or forget Republicans doing this. They don’t get to go “back to normal” after. They wanted this; empowered it.
With them, Donald Trump – dictionary buffoon – has haphazardly lined up the pieces to end our already-flawed representative government. He has a stacked judicial branch, a complicit legislative branch, and a cult of personality fed a diet of hate, lies, anger, and victimization.
I don’t know that we’ve even approached this level of fascism in America. We have a President who has said – out loud – that any election not resulting in his reelection is illegitimate; a cult of white nationalistic followers with guns who agree as he calls for unlimited terms.
It’s difficult for me to imagine that any follower of this account – anyone who believes in the creativity, color, and progress inherent in theme parks – would position themselves on that dismal side of history that will inevitably lose. If so, unfollow now, cancel your Pass! ✌🏻
This isn’t just a party wrought with darkness, anger, and fear; it’s a party against progress. A party that wants the world to stop getting better for anyone but it’s own adherents. But you can’t stop society’s momentum. Those who fight progress aren’t remembered as victors.
Please know that we will be proven right. Not just in the history books, but in our lifetimes; this decade; this year; this month. Humanity keeps moving forward. People don’t surrender freedoms. They don’t forfeit rights. Society doesn’t go backwards. That’s progress for ya.
I know you’re already voting (and if you’re following me, probably for Joe & Kamala). Hopefully all of us are realizing that that’s only a good START. We young generations have come close to losing this country. We may have lost friends and family along the way. Don’t give up.
Let’s never forget this. Let’s #VoteThemOut. Let’s engage. Let’s care. Let’s be kind. Let’s believe scientists. Let’s be involved. Our kids and grandkids will be proud of who we were and what we did for ourselves and our friends. There’s a great, big, beautiful tomorrow dammit.
