Hey #twitterstorians! Today my graduate writing seminar pivots from reading historiography to WRITING. Starting today, they begin their formal writing practice using original sources and research.

What is your favorite advice for first-time authors as they start to write?
I tweet this question for two reasons. 1. i think we could all use some hype right now (I know I can!), and 2. at least one #his203 writer is already following this thread :) #dontletitflop
Here's another one that's stuck with me:

always park on the downslope.

When ending a writing session, I leave 1-2 bullet points giving me prompts to start the next day's writing. This keeps my train of thought moving & stops me sitting down and thinking "ugh what now?"
