Ok, enough of you showed some interest, so let's do some tips to help improve your writing (we'll see if we get to 10 or if I get carried away and do more). Most of these will be grammar but I'll throw in some style stuff as well. Ready?
1. For the love of all that is holy, please, please, please do a spell check of your work before you post. Word is best for this because it has a review tab (where you will find the thesaurus aka your bff). But even Docs will underline errors for you; if you hover over it +
it will suggest the correction. If you're a total badass and write right in ao3 (and I admire the hell out of you), it will underline misspelled words too. It will not suggest grammar corrections, though.
2. The bane of my existence: epithets. I know some of y'all insist on them because variety, but I can't stress enough how much it takes the reader out of the story if they have to pause to figure out which character is "the taller man" or "the blonde woman."
JUST USE THEIR NAMES. Yes, it feels awkward at first, especially when writing same-sex scenes because you can't just use "he" and "she" to distinguish who's who. But I promise the reader will just skim over them.
