There’s always a real gleeful rush to to do the visible clergy-centered acts of solidarity as opposed to what is both pedestrian and costly. https://twitter.com/revstacey/status/1321155739487031296
This extends past clergy, though. For instance, I’ve heard plenty of people rush to the idea of providing Sanctuary in their churches but not the work of building the relationships required for that level of trust.
Which is to say, being a good comrade is actually pretty boring and not conducive at all to building a brand.
I’m trying to make my brand less contrarian so here’s my constructive offer, as a young ordinand with experience in both nonprofit, church, and insurgent grassroots social justice work, my DMs are open to troubleshoot the unique and helpful ways clergy/churches can do solidarity
